Nepal's Tara Devi Pun has set three new national records amid the Asian Weightlifting Championships in Phuket, Thailand on Friday.
Play on words set a record of 71kg in grab, 95kg in quick lift, and 166kg altogether. Joke, contending in the ladies' 75kg division, enhanced her past best of 68 in grab and 94kg in quick lift.
Gagan Singh Wali set another record in men's 105kg class, lifting 113kg in grab. Wali broke the past record of 112kg set by Madan Shiva Bhakti. Pukar Gurung likewise set national, record lifting 123kg in men's 105kg division. Gurung broke the record of 122kg set by Gopal Bahadur Shrestha by lifting 142kg in quick lift.
